Recommended for band students who have completed Grade 10 or higher with at least three years experience on their instrument.

Included are full band rehearsals, small ensembles, private lessons, a wide variety of musicianship classes and nightly faculty concerts.

PIANO WORKSHOP

July 25 – 31, 2010

Instructor: Dr. Greg Caisley

Recommended for students in Grades 10, 11 or 12 with a minimum of Grade 5 RCM (or equivalent) piano proficiency. This exciting workshop will explore many facets of piano performance including master classes, private lessons, effective practice techniques, ensemble playing, jazz performance, accompanying, musicianship and nightly faculty concerts.

YOUTH CONTEMPORARY CHOIR

July 25 – 31, 2010

Instructor: Lorna MacLachlan

Into jazz? This is the group for you! The MusiCamp Alberta Youth Contemporary Choir is recommended for singers in Grades 10, 11 or 12 with previous choral experience. The program is designed to teach acoustic vocal jazz techniques and basic jazz and popular music styles. Special emphasis is placed on improvisation, ensemble and solo singing.

INTERMEDIATE BAND[S]

August 1 – 7, 2010

Instructor: Gareth Jones

Recommended for students in Grades 8, 9 or 10 with at least two years experience on their instrument. Included are full band rehearsals, small ensembles, private lessons, musicianship classes and nightly faculty concerts.

GIRLS CHOIR

August 8 – 14, 2010

Instructor: Anne McIntyre

This choir is recommended for girls aged 9 – 14. New music, voice development, movement, stage presence and a variety of camp activities make up this exciting week. Vocal coaching, small ensemble opportunities, and faculty concerts are all included in the MusiCamp Girls Choir.

MUSICAL THEATRE FOR YOUNG SINGERS

August 8 – 14, 2010

Instructor: Kim Mattice Wanat

Recommended for students aged 9 – 14 who have the desire to develop all aspects of Musical Theatre performance. Singing, acting, and dancing will all be explored – become the next “triple-threat” sensation!
